In accordance with IRS regulations, the International Friends of the Natural Sciences Museum (IFNSM) may not accept contributions that are legally required to be transferred to the Natural Sciences Museum or to any other organization. All contributions are received with the understanding that the IFNSM Board of Directors retains full discretion and authority over their use.
Donors are welcome to express preferences regarding how their gifts might be applied; however, such requests are treated as non-binding. This structure is essential to maintaining the organization’s tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and ensuring that donations remain fully tax-deductible.
Unrestricted contributions to IFNSM are especially valuable, as they allow the Board to allocate resources where they are most needed in support of the organization's mission.
